Joy Raimi Mojisola, Miss Port Harcourt City Intercontinental, has taken a giant leap.

At the just concluded Miss Intercontinental pageant held in Egypt, the beauty queen beat 76 other contenders to emerge winner, clinching the title of Miss Intercontinental Africa. A Nigerian, Bianca Onoh later Bianca Ojukwu, had won the title in 1989.

Speaking, Mojisola said: “I feel fulfilled being the Miss Intercontinental Africa. I’ve always wanted to make a change and I saw the opportunity and grabbed it. I competed for this pageant to prove to young Nigerian/African girls that you can be whatever you want to be with hard work and persistence. Just keep pushing your dreams.”

On her expectations as a beauty queen, she said: “It’s been a long while since the Miss Intercontinental crown came home to Nigeria, so it’s a big win for me, my country and my organization, Miss Intercontinetal Nigeria, and I’m not taking that for granted. I will take on the duties of being Miss Intercontinental Africa to touch lives and make a change where I can.”

On her part, the National Director, Miss Intercontinental Nigeria, Anita May Igoni, said the crown was well deserved, having followed the due process and transparency of the organisers.
