Property worth millions of naira were yesterday destroyed by rainstorm at the Command area of Ipaja, Ayobo Local Community Development Area, in Alimosho Local Government, Lagos State.
The rain, which started at about 2pm and fell for two hours, pulled down electric poles, block fences and blew off many roofs. In some instances, wooden and container shops were carried away.
Most affected were building at Peace Estate, Femi Bamgbelu Street, Jerusalem and the Army Barracks.
Although, there was no report of casualty as at the time of filing this report, traffic was obstructed by electric poles, which fell across Command Road.
The resident were seen salvaging their belonging that were carried away by flood.
A resident, John Okoba said they have called electricity company to come and remove the poles that fell down during the heavy down pour.
