Members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Region 19, recently visited the General Hospital Gbagada, Lagos State as part of activities to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the church. The event was attended by a team consisting of five provinces from the region.

Representatives from Provinces 2, 23, 27, 60, and 92 initially converged on the RCCG Maranatha Church, Gbagada.

The respective assistant pastors in charge of the Church Social Responsibility led the visitation team.  One of the leaders, Pastor Leke Gbadebo, stated: “Prayer is an essential part of the healing process, not only for the patients but for the nation of Nigeria as a whole. Therefore, the purpose of the visitation is to pray with the patients, minister the word of God to encourage them, and share a token of hospitality with them and the staff of the hospital all in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the church. We have to give hope in times like these.”

Pastor Sonuyi, who led the team, noted: “We visited almost all the wards. We were at the Casualty/Emergency Ward, Children Ward, Female Surgical Ward, Female Medical Ward, Male Surgical Ward, and the Male Medical Ward.

“The items distributed to the staff and patients included Christian tracts, bathroom slippers, buckets, detergent, hand soap, and cleaner, beverages, noodles, energy-giving drinks, toiletries and tissue paper.”

One of the Directors of Lagos State Ministry of Health, Dr Mrs Funmi Shokunbi said of the visit: “The staff of Gbagada General Hospital is delighted for the gesture as doctors can only do their best but God heals. They also came to give the patients some relief items, pray with them and introduce Christ to them. Some of the patients gave their lives to Lord Jesus Christ and it is hope for them. You need faith to heal from sickness sometimes.”
