It is not in the character of Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) to respond to issues raised by private individuals, but we are compelled to do so in the extant case for the purpose of correction of the inaccuracy contained in the interview you (Kenny Ashaka) had with one Mohammed Abdulrahman-for record purposes.
Mohammed Abdurahman who claimed to be a member of the ACF National Executive Council and also a Political Secretary of the ACF as published in The Sun newspaper of 15th October, 2017, is not the scribe of ACF nor is he the secretary of the forum’s political committee as claimed in your story.
ACF is therefore constrained to respond to the false claims of Abdulrahman that he is the ACF’s scribe and also Political Secretary as published in The Sun newspaper of 15th October 2017, in order to avoid similar mistakes in the future.
The views expressed by Abdulrahman in the interview published by your newspaper were strictly personal to him and do not in any way represent the views of the ACF or the North. Individuals’ rights to express their views on issues of national interest should be done with decorum and civility in order not to offend the sensibilities of others. Please note further that the said Mohammed has no mandate to speak on behalf of the ACF or for the North. ACF, therefore, dissociates itself from the contents of the interview. In addition, ACF wishes to appeal for caution and restrain on your part in order to avoid such embarrassing publication that can affect the credibility of your newspaper and of your person.
