The gathering, comprised mainly of general overseers and head ministers of churches, was led by Prophet Emmanuel Chinonso Stephen, national president, MPO, who stated: “Having watched with keen interest the events going on in the nation and after due consultation with religious leaders across the country, including a meeting with the National Working Committee of Missionaries and Pastors Organisation worldwide, we are convinced that the government of President Muhammadu Buhari, though not perfect, is nonetheless committed to building a better Nigeria; and having shown great will in fighting corruption, which is one of the major problems in this country, we hereby unanimously endorse President Buhari and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo for a second term.”

According to him, state coordinators of the organisation in the 36 states and the FCT, have been directed to work and pray for the re-election of President Buhari.

The patron of the organisation, Archbishop Sunday Onyeagoziri Okeugo, also echoed the same sentiment. “By my own assessment, Buhari has done well in four years and he should be allowed to continue,” he said.
