House of Representatives member-elect to represent Apapa Constituency 1, Mufutau Egberongbe, has called on Lagosians to support and vote the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) governorship candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in Saturday’s election.

Egberongbe, who won in the February 23 election to represent his constituency in the Green Chamber, said Lagos needs Sanwo-Olu and the APC to achieve its mega city status.

“It is unwise to change a winning team. The state has been able to survive during the unfavourable 16-year rule of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at the centre. Now that the APC is at the control tower, it can only get better with APC. The state has continued to grow in revenue, running into billions of dollars and it will really be unwise not to continue in that trend.

“There is nothing the opposition is bringing to the table. As Lagosians, let us continue to support growth and progress by coming out en masse to vote for the candidate and the party that will take us to the next level,” he said.

The two-time House of Assembly member lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the peaceful conduct of elections, as he thanked his  constituents for believing in him at the polls.

He promised to continue to operate an open door policy, by giving 100 percent representation from the green chamber. He expressed faith in the APC under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in taking Nigeria to the next level.
