Karimot Aderinsola Abiola, the daughter of late billionaire businessman cum politician, Chief MKO Abiola is said to be having it very rough in her battle to become a member of the House of Representatives. It’s like a ‘baptism of fire’ for the amiable dark-hue lady seeking to represent Abeokuta North/Obafemi- Owode/Odeda federal constituency of Ogun State at the Green Chamber of the National Assembly on the platform of Action Democratic Party, ADP, in today’s rescheduled general elections. The young female politician is said to be having a vicious foe in incumbent federal lawmaker, Mikail Kazeem, who is believed to be feeling threatened by her rising profile in their constituency. Kazeem who was elected into the House of Representatives in 2015 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, recently defected to Allied Peoples’ Movement, APM, alongside other allies of the State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, to seek a return to the lower chamber.

Spotlight learnt that Kazeem who enjoys the backing of the state governor has allegedly unleashed a series of open and subtle intimidation tactics on the late business mogul’s daughter. It was alleged that the federal lawmaker ordered his boys to paste his posters all over MKO Abiola’s family house in Gbagura, Abeokuta in an open show of power. While at it, the boys were also said to have pasted Kazeem’s posters on top of Rinsola’s at the family house and in the surrounding areas. In the face of these, Rinsola, known for her advocacy for gender equality and youth inclusion in politics, was not unnerved.
