RIVERS State Police Command has confirmed the arrested of a suspected ritualist, Maxwell, a 200-level student of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), Choba, Rivers State.

The suspect was arrested on Saturday by policemen from the Okporo Police Station, Port Harcourt, for allegedly killing his uncle’s eight-year-old daughter in Eliozu area of the state capital.

Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police Omoni Nnamdi, told journalists that the suspect was a part-time student of Physics at UNIPORT.

According to him, Maxwell confessed that his client asked him to provide five sense organs of a girl for ritual purpose.

The suspect, who was paraded at the Police Command’s headquarters, Port Harcourt, said he lured the victim to his room and gave her an overdose of chlorohydrate before killing her.

He alleged that his client promised to make him “independent.”

Meanwhile,  the deceased’s father, Mr. Ernest  Ezewuba, from Mbaitolu Local Government Area of Imo State, has described the incident as unbelievable.
