Few days to the presidential and National Assembly elections, the  Independent  National Electoral Commission (INEC), has said exclusion of the All Progressives Congress (APC), from elections in Rivers State, stands.

On Monday, an Appeal Court in Port Harcourt, the state capital, granted a stay of execution of an High Coiurt ruling which nullified the APC primaries, as contravening an earlier order of the court not to go ahead with the exercise.

National Commissioner, Chairman Information and Voter Education, Festus Okoye, who made the disclosure at an interactive session with INEC  Correspondents in Abuja yesterday, said: “On the issue of Rivers, the Commission has taken a decision, if things change, we will meet as a Commission to take a fresh decision. But, as at now, the commission has not reviewed its position as it concerns Rivers state APC.”

OKoye also disclosed that it has delivered all sensitive electoral materials at the various state vaults of the Central Bank of  Nigeria. 

Okoye pointed out that the commission’s Local Government Area offices have taken delivery of non-sensitive materials.
