No fewer than nine persons have been killed while 13 others sustained various degrees of injuries in a road accident that occurred in Bauchi State on Monday.

The State Command of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the incident, saying it occurred at about 9:07 pm.

A report from the FRSC in Azare station, signed by the Unit Commander, ARC A. Maga, disclosed that it happened at Kwanan Shettu along the Postikum – Azare expressway.

According to the report, the accident involved a DAF trailer with registration number KTG 08 XC and a commercial Toyota Hiace.

The trailer belonged to the BUA group of companies and was being driven by one Alhaji Sani Ali.

The probable cause of the accident was a speed limit violation, the report disclosed.

Occupants were 21 male adults and one female adult, out of which 9 male adults were killed while 13 others, comprising 12 Male adults and 1 female adult sustained various degrees of injuries

The victims were taken to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Azare, at the time of this report.
