From Gyang Bere, Jos

The Plateau State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hon Chris Hassan, has said the governorship candidate of the party, Barr Caleb Mutfwang, will provide the soothing balm that will address the pains and agony of Plateau people who have been left in the wilderness for seven and a half years.

He noted that Mutfwang, who have lived with the people over the years understands their plights and will strategically put in place working policies that will alleviate the untold hardship inflicted on them.

Hassan disclosed this on Wednesday in Jos during an interaction with the media and said the party is working round the clock to deliver PDP from top to bottom.

“The pains being experienced by our people is one of our greatest challenges. I wish to assure the good people of Plateau State that the personality, exposure and experience of our gubernatorial candidate, Barr Caleb Mutfwang, would be brought to bear in our quest for peace and security and the development of our dear state.

“We cannot afford to fail the people of Plateau neither can we reinforce failure by rolling the APC government.”

Hassan apologized to individuals or groups who felt hurt by the party’s actions and inactions with regard to the party’s primaries and the constitution of Atiku/Mutfwang State Campaign Council.

“Once again, I apologise to any individual or group that felt or still feels hurt by our actions or inactions in the processes that led to where we are today as a party. I am using this medium to further sue for peace and unity within the PDP family as we prepare to vote 5/5 Atiku/Mutfwang 2023.”

He noted that Plateau people are wiser today than they were in 2015 and 2019 and said that they will make an informed decision as they go out to cast their votes.

“We are dealing with an administration that has not only betrayed the trust freely given by the people of Plateau State, but he has risen against them.

“We are dealing with a leader who instead of being prepared to die for his people, but he is ready to die for an individual. In Governor Lalong’s words and actions “When people asked me why I was dying for Buhari, I told them I will die for Buhari because he is my helper. He is equating God with an individual.” He stated.

Hassan explained that the Federal High Court’s judgement that dismissed the court case touching on the soul of the party has brought a sigh of relief and removed all legal impediments, setting the course clear for the party to face the electorates in 2023.

“It is worthy to note that the party is facing the 2023 election on a clean slate, “and we shall come out victorious” even the status of the STATE EXECUTIVE has been cleared with the judgement delivered by Justice D.V AGISHI which clearly put to rest the non-compliance with Gangs Judgement a thing of the past.

“It is instructive to state clearly that the repeat state congress held on 25/9/2021 is not challenged by any party faithful in court. The appeal by the party pending before the Supreme Court is simpliciter on Exclusion of the Party in the last local government council election,” he stated.
