The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has reached out to its members abroad in a bid to strengthen the chances of the party, ahead of the formal commencement of campaigns for the 2023 general elections.

Vice Presidential candidate of the party Bishop Isaac Idahosa disclosed the information to Daily Sun when he met with a large number of party members and supporters residents in the United States.

Similarly, members of the Kwankwasiyya movement in the United States as well as students under the scholarship of Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the NNPP Presidential candidate for the 2023 elections also joined in welcoming Bishop Idahosa to the US for the consultative meetings.

A statement from Bishop Idahosa on Thursday indicated that the move was aimed at galvanising all the support that would increase the victory chances of NNPP in the forthcoming general elections.

He said: “It was an opportunity to market the party and the agenda of its presidential candidate in the 2023 elections to the world. The world needs to understand that NNPP has a tested and trusted presidential candidate who has the answers to the myriad problems facing Nigeria, especially the economy and security.

“However, there was an impressive reception for me from Nigerians who are obviously tired of the bad leadership in Nigeria and couldn’t wait for Dr Kwankwaso to take over the mantle of leadership in Nigeria.

“A large number of party members, well-wishers, party supporters and lots of students who are on scholarship in the US came out enmass to welcome me, and we had fruitful meetings that would soon translate to tangible result.”

Bishop Idahosa said that students under the scholarship of Dr Kwankwaso were full of appreciation and gratitude to God for the opportunity, assuring him of their support to any cause that would guarantee the success of the party, not only at the federal level but across the states and legislative elections.

He said that a student, Mustapha Usman Baba from Kano State, a Kwankwasiyya scholar presently doing PhD programme at
Morgan State University, Baltimore Maryland USA, informed him that aside TETFund sponsored scholars, there are lots of students in the school and beyond from Kwankwasiyya movement.

He said that the students promised to support him in prayers and mobilisation from within and outside Nigeria to ensure he and other party candidates emerge successful in the forthcoming general elections.
