A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Adeola Sosanwo, has said that any gang up against the second term bid of Gov Dapo Abiodun, would fail.

Sosanwo stated this while reacting to a viral video where a former governorship candidate in the state, Rotimi Paseda was boasting that he was all out to ensure the governor is not returned in 2023.

In the one-minute viral video, Paseda, who at a political meeting spoke in Yoruba, declared that the essence of the meeting was to ensure that the governor fails in his bid to be reelected.

Sosanwo condemned the statement he described as an “uncharitable comment” against the governor, saying that the outburst was unnecessary and such that was borne out of pure jealousy.

“I always found it so ridiculous when people find it so easy to assume the role of God in the life of another human being like them, but we shall leave them to their consciences because in the build-up to the 2019 general elections, this was how they were jumping up down threatening fire and brimstone against the election of Prince Dapo Abiodun but God proved them wrong because only He enthrones.

“The re-election bid of a Dapo Abiodun come 2023 is another divine mandate that is also backed by the people of the state. This is because the governor has been very fantastic with governance in the last three years. He has ensured development across the state. You can see his imprints at every corner. By December, Ogun State will join leagues of states with a viable international airport, this is in addition to the success story of this government in road construction, health, education, housing and many more.

“Honestly, this gang up against the second term bid of Governor Abiodun is bound to fail, it doesn’t really matter the ranting and frustration of those who had in the past attempted the same office but were rejected by the people of the state. The governor remains committed to pursuing those programmes and policies that will continually make life better for the entire citizenry and by the grace of God and support of the good people of the state, the governor’s second term is a done deal,” he stated.
