The wife of the Osun State Governor, Kafayat Oyetola, on Tuesday led over 10,000 women (Akoni Obinrin) in a solidarity walk for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima.

She said the women’s group will stand with their votes to forestall over-voting which she said characterised the July 16 governorship election in the state.

The women’s group started the march at Government House, Oke-Fia and walk through Alekuwodo, Ola-Iya, Odi-Olowo, Isale Aro, Station road, and Old Garage before they terminated the walk at Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, Osogbo.

Speaking, Oyetola’s wife said, “this movement of Akoni Obinrin (brave women) is a movement to deliver victory for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. We are targeting 1 million votes for Tinubu/Shettima in 2023.

“We have seen what he has done within and outside the country most especially when he was the governor of Lagos state, he is the type of man that accommodate everybody without tribal sentiment. With the good job he has done in Lagos state, we believe he will replicate it in the entire country.”

“From the experience of over-voting we had in the 2022 governorship election, we will ensure we monitor, we will go to polling units to cast our votes, stay at the polling units to prevent rigging of any kind like it happened a few months ago, we are ready to monitor the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System, BVAS. We will do all that it takes to prevent preloaded BVAS. We are ready to monitor our votes,” Oyetola added.
