The Plateau State deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Commissioner for Works, Hon Pam Bot-Mang, has solicited the support of Plateau youths in moving the state to greater heights in 2023.

He urged the youths to join hands with the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Dr Nentawe Yilwatda, who has realistic and youths oriented programmes to improve the standard of living of the citizens.

Hon Bot-Mang, who is the son of former Plateau State Deputy Governor, Michael Bot-Mang, disclosed this on Tuesday in Jos when Independent Publishers Association (IPA), Plateau State honoured him with a meritorious award at his residence in Rayfield, Jos, Plateau State.

He encouraged average youths in the state to develop themselves in view of the greater opportunities that awaits them in the future.

He appreciated the executive and stakeholders of the APC for giving him the opportunity to serve as the running mate for Dr Yilwatda ahead of the 2023 election.

Bot-Mang pledged his loyalty to the party’s candidate and Plateau people and assured them that the state will witness massive development if elected into office.

“I wish to say here that my service to humanity did not start when I became Commissioner of Works but I have mentored and given employment to over 10 youths who are employers of labour today in different fields.

“Plateau people will not regret if we are elected into office because will we bring to bear our experience and youthful knowledge on ICT to drive the state to a land of prosperity.”

He appreciated Governor Simon Lalong for bringing him down from Lagos to work for God and humanity in Plateau and vowed that the peace and unity of the state will continue to be his interest.

Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Dan Manjang said the choice of Hon Bot-Mang, for the APC deputy governorship candidate, will add electoral value to the APC ticket in 2023.

The chairman of the Independent Publishers Association (IPA), Shabul Mazadu, described Hon Bot-Mang, as an accomplished technocrat who has served Plateau and Nigeria at different levels.

He said the choice of Bot-Mang for the meritorious award was because of his humility, service to humanity and his excellent performance in turning the fortunes of Plateau to the advantage of the people.

“IPA as an association of newspapers and magazines publishers and radio station owner, deems it fit to encourage proponents and executors of progress, development, unity and selfless services to the society by conferring awards of excellence and merits on deserving citizens so as to boost their morale in doing more.

“His outstanding performance and pedigree, humility, vision and penchant for prosperity, unity and progress, endeared Dr, Nentawe Yilwada, the APC gubernatorial candidate to pick him as running mate seeing they float on the same visionary pedestal of transforming Plateau into a glorious haven.”

He noted that the Award was to spur Bot-Mang to deliver more fruitful and people-oriented services that will impact humanity positively for the greater good of the state.

The Chairman, Dangana Crest Resident Association, Mude Yusuf, said that if Pam Bot-Mang emerged Deputy Governor of Plateau State in 2023, Plateau people will enjoy real dividends of democracy.
