The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Ebonyi State for the 2023 general elections, Prof Bernard Ifeanyi Odoh, has promised to secure the state against the activities of criminal elements thereby encouraging businesses to thrive without hindrance in the state.

Odoh who shared his security plans with some select stakeholders in the state noted that crimes can be deterred by making strategic changes to the environment.

He said his administration will host a security summit with all stakeholders in the state to identify and plan sustainable strategies to address all the underlying causes of insecurity, inter-communal clashes etc.

He disclosed that from the summit, a road map for a violence-free Ebonyi State will be agreed upon and implemented by all the various stakeholders keeping in mind an increased collaboration on sustainable scales, rapid response planning using technology and building ongoing situational awareness.

The Professor of Geophysics said the state will enact legislations with adequate appropriations and investments to secure Ebonyi communities.

Explaining his preparedness for the job as the State Chief Executive in Ebonyi, Odoh said all his strategic plans for the state have been tagged with expected administrative timelines of implementation while the impact of his administration’s policies will be felt by different stakeholders across the state which included civil servants, students, traders, uneducated, unemployed, women and children including entrepreneurs and the organised private sector.

He assured that his administration will not be gender biased and will never subvert the importance of women empowerment, an initiative he said will result into economic growth, political stability and social transformation of Ebonyi State.
