The death knell has been sounded on the international career of Watford forward, Isaac Success after failing to convince the coach of the senior national team of Nigeria, Gernot Rohr, Owngoalnigeria.com reported.

Success was given the chance by Rohr to push for the spot of Odion Ighalo in the Super Eagles squad after the World Cup, but the forward didn’t show enough commitment to force the coach into picking him ahead of Ighalo.

In training, Success didn’t show enough hunger and even when he got to play in the friendly game against Uganda, he failed to put in a shift for the team, something which left Rohr disappointed.

“I think he has thrown his chance away. He didn’t do enough when he was called up after the World Cup. For now, Rohr isn’t considering him in his squad for the AFCON”, a member of the backroom staff told owngoalnigeria.com.

His problem went from bad to worse, when he lost his spot at Watford, leaving the coach with no reasonable excuse to include him in his squad for the last two games played by the Super Eagles.

Paul Onuachu grabbed his chance with both hands and he is almost certain to be at the Africa Cup of Nations alongside Victor Osimhen as Nigeria’s other strikers to compliment Ighalo.
