Rotary Club of Ojodu in collaboration with District 9110 has donated hearing aids and also flagged off treatment of 150 pupils of Wesley School for Hearing Impaired Children, Surulere Lagos.

The hearing impairment project tagged, ‘Hearing For Learning Project’ which is the brain-child of the District Governor, Omotunde Lawson targets the de-waxing children of the school while providing them with hearing aids.

The project also involves free screening and provision of hearing aids for some of the pupils in school I and School II respectively.

President of the club, Edwin Okon said the club was committed to contributing to the educational development of indigent pupils,especially those with special needs, to enable them achieve their potential.

Okon said the club collaborated with District 9110 for the project because of the passion about the less privilege.

“We believe that the hearing aid will enhance their intellectual performance. If they are able to hear, they will do better in school,” he said.

Excitement radiated in the school as 150 pupils  were among the first beneficiaries of the project.

Lawson in her remark, lauded the club for embarking on the project and  supporting the hearing aid project.

Head Teacher of the school, Mrs. Elizabeth Ojemola thanked the club for its kind gesture. She appreciated Rotary Club of Ojodu and District9110 for the project and said it would go a long way to support the pupils intellectual performance.
