Rotary Club, Lekki Novare District 9110, Lagos has inaugurated its second president, Hilary Nwawulu and inducted its Board of Directors.
Installation committee chairman, Nneka Ifejika, said:
“Rotary International is a humanitarian service organisation which brings together business and professional leaders to provide community service, promote integrity and advance goodwill, peace and understanding in the world.”
Nwawulu pledged: “I will continue impacting lives through various community based projects. I will take every member to the journey of self discovering, improving each one’s personal leadership ability.”
The guest speaker, Mr Don Adinuba, who spoke on the topic, “Corporate Social Responsibility,” described giving back as one of the six dimensions of community social responsibility.
Other areas, he explained are philanthropy, employee satisfaction, ethical in business relationship and organisational members, commitment to environment and staff treatment with human dignity.
He said: “Rotary’s four-way test has become the basic standard of teaching business ethics.”
The event was also coincided with awards to notable individuals who have distinguished themselves in their various fields of endeavour.
