My people, my people
I am compelled with no better option than to continue to appeal for us to maintain peace in the state of Osun as a party and as people who remain truly committed to the sustenance of the government of APC in the state and by extension the government of Gov. Gboyega Oyetola and Mr Gboyega Alabi respectively.
I have decided to republish below article to drive home my point in view of series of recent postings from several quarters of the state where people are trying to outsmart each other all in the name of displaying loyalty and condemning one group or the other.
As good as it is to show ones loyalty and commitment to the party and for the continuity of APC government. I would like to humbly appeal that we try to caution our choice of languages and for us to give room for likely reconciliation which in any case we truly need and this is the fervent prayers of some of us and we shall continue to pray for it.
Let me be quick to state this…No one, I repeat no one can claim to be more Oyetola than some of us and no one can deny the fact that I am a product of Oranmiyan.. I was one of the first convert who came to the state by train. Significantly, I have also been involved in series of struggles in the state, I have duly paid my dues in many ways and made some sacrifices which also includes the calamity that almost took my life…. Sad to remember that my blood brother and many others were not so lucky and were consumed.
I have been involved in many political games and especially under a very severe and tensed atmosphere as opposition then. All to the glory of Almighty God. Under this same noble party of ours I have contested and robbed, I have contested and won election and I have also suffered election misfortune but God knows better and His chosen time is the best.
In any case loosing power or control of government is better imagined than reality. Let’s therefore not forget that our clever enemies are not in any way sleeping at all. They are daily regrouping and re-strategizing to approach 2022 election with all the energies in them. (Lori Iro anyway).. but it is our wish they fail and so shall it be again and again. Amen.
This is easy done only if we work as a team and close ranks and not this manner at which we daily branded each others as “enemies within” Na wetin dey do us paapa, abi na Eedi?….infighting everywhere on a daily basis would certainly not help us but cause more damage than good
I would like to re echo that :
GOV OYETOLA NEEDS MORE FRIENDS THAN ENEMIES. There can not be a better time for us to intensify efforts to build a solid platform for the progress of our dear party APC and to make friends for Gov Gboyega Oyetola than now. Not too long ago, we worked like never before in “unity” to ensure his victory, we embarked on multiple prayers and white-fasting and cried unto God to ensure our resounding victory.
God was faithful to His words without any iota of disappointment. He eventually crowned our wishes and gave us victory despite several imaginable and unimaginable opposing forces…sibe sibe ILERI OLUWA se. It can only be God and God alone.
Today, he (Oyetola) is piloting the affairs of the state and he is so mindful of his personal integrity to ensure he do only those things that will endear our party and his government in the heart of the people. Bravo to him. Please let’s therefore be cautious and remember that this our deserved government of the people and guided by the people’s wish simply puts greater courage and challenges before us to prepare to do only those things that will move our dear party and state forward and not to cause rancour or enmity with any body. We shouldn’t be enemies to ourselves and therefore be conscious of what history would say about our roles.
This is therefore a good time for us to think positively and to note that we can not pretend to have monopoly of knowledge or wisdom. It is indeed a good time for us to begin to woo the opposition, build unity within our party and also reach out to any perceived aggrieved individuals which includes those with opposing views on some policies, to parley with them and to ensure we close ranks in order to enlarge our coast with serious intention to reposition our great party for better tomorrow which is not too far if we are to be truthful to ourselves. Not too bad if we encourage those our friends, brothers and sisters who came via alliance, extend our hands of friendship to those our people, former party faithful who for one reason or the other derailed at certain times in the past and many others who prefer to keep silence and wait for critical time to strike.
With a good combination of personalities, successes being recorded by our performing governor and with lots of openness cum willingness to forgive and tolerate one another, our party can be amazing and become more vibrant and formidable to withstand future election that will never need a rerun but rather a landslide victory so as not to experience unnecessary stress any longer.
To ensure this is for us to stop further bickering, promotion of hate, castigation and nepotism and to stop further mocking of any group or person. We are one indivisible family with a common enemy who are daily praying for the sickness in us to know no bounds. OLORUN ju won lo.
I want to be known as someone who will not hesitate to state matters the way it is no matter what. Many may not know ,I can survive the rest of my life without politics. I am not prepare to worship or bootlick to anybody . So at my age, I don’t care who is hurt by the demonstration of my principle. We need peace.
Without unity and oneness we are not likely to go far as a party .May God accept our good wishes for our dear state and I pray for the success of our party and gov Adegboyega Oyetola. We have seen the so called “TOP” and their motive and the people behind it. We have not seen those who keep pretending and simply waiting for how the composition of local councils would favour them. They are nothing but great pretenders and the enemies we should prepare for and not really the known TOP whose grievances and the ideas are being condemned by many of us today.
I am a realist with no going back, I love Gov. Oyetola, I am his in-law for those who care to know. As God would have it, I was the chairman of his campaigns for Ife Federal Constituency, I worked diligently both for the main election and the eventual rerun for his deserved victory. I am happy with his government and his style of governance is making me proud , I am happy with my party leader but so afraid with the manner we handle many things and people that matters in the state are silent. Though, I am not in best position to apportion blames or passed judgement on anybody but from my point of understanding, all is not well within, realistically. However, if stating my mind is going to be tagged as a sin by some likely myopic minds.. I would love to be a sinner per excellence.
