The APC Integrity Group, Ondo State Chapter, has condemned an alleged move by the Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, to impose his preferred candidate for positions within the party.
This was disclosed through a press statement issued by the coordinator of the group, Obakunle Isijola, yesterday.
While questioning the constitutional right of the governor to be the sole right owners to nominate a candidate for the party which was collectively founded, Isijola explained that the group would not ignore the move of the governor.
The Press Statement further reads:
“If you have submitted your right, some others persons have not. The same Governors who has not fought for us since 2014 to have substantial party positions or good appointment at federal level are now usurping power to nominates party positions.
“Osun State has led the party from formation stage, what are you projecting in Southwest, are you saying Ondo State does not deserve better?
“If it is not ‘efun’, ‘edi’ or ‘asas’i, how can Ondo State prefer Vice Chairman to Secretaryship of our great party?
“Who can the vice chairman help? You’re not even talking of a Deputy Chairman but Vice Chairman? Ha! Politics of backwardness!
“Ha! When has Ondo State became so complaisance with irritating measures?

“When other Yoruba States got senior ministers in both first and second terms of Buhari what position did our brothers or sister states took to defend us?
“Please wake up and stop exhibiting your ignorance defending nonsense!
Our delegate should wise up on Saturday to covet Secretary to Ondo State.”
