RwandAir has introduced new services aboard its latest airplane, an Airbus A330-200, to woo fresh customers, while retaining existing ones.
The Country Manager, Nigeria, of the airline, Ibiyemi Odusi, who disclosed this in Abuja yesterday at a forum with travel agents, said customers can now enjoy a full flat bed in the business class cabin of the gigantic aircraft.
According to her, the A330-200 comes in a configuration of 20 seats in the business class, 21 in premium economy and 223 in the economy cabin.
“With this new products, passengers now enjoy 2-pc luggage of 23kg each. We’ve premium economy and for business class passengers, they now enjoy 2-pc luggage of 32kg each.
“That’s not all, by May 2017, we’ll take delivery of two B737-800. So far, we’ve nine airplanes and we travel to many local, regional and international destinations. We operate the youngest fleet in Africa and our oldest airplane is four years old. We operate the dream miles membership, which offers passengers extra baggage allowance, access to lounges even if you’re travelling on an economy ticket.
RwandAir also offers Internet onboard in the air. So your work doesn’t stop because you’re travelling”, she added.
On what the airline has for travel agents, Odusi said: “the dream miles membership card can be loaded with Rwandan Francs. So, it’s just not an ordinary membership card. Passengers can shop with it. So, it can be loaded with money and travel agents will earn 33 per cent commission on the amount loaded. We’re doing that in conjunction with Ecobank, our bankers”, she said.
