The pandemic may have taken a toll on our minds, but thanks to beauty experts like Sabrina Bradley, many individuals were able to take charge of their skin more than ever before. For many, waking up to a day planned for self-love was the strongest motivating factor to navigate through the empty spaces of the day. Sabrina, a self-made esthetician and holistic facialist since “before it became cool,” developed many skin care routines to help people work from home.
Talking about her process, she says, “I’m a people person. As someone who has been through and survived life’s tough seasons, I know how deeply our internal emotions are linked to our skin. Our face, especially, is like a map of our internal struggles and triumphs. When the pandemic hit and people started working from home, I felt that, sooner or later, this trend will catch on, and people will feel the need to present themselves well for say, a Zoom meeting. It’s with this thought that I set out to create my skin care routine.”
Talking about it, she says, “I wanted to create something really easy. Since online meetings focus entirely on the face, I encouraged my clients to go for a clean look that’s not very makeup-heavy. I recommend them to wear facial masks like aloe-vera gel masks to keep their skin fresh. Next, I suggest keeping the eye makeup to a minimum. The cheeks can have a pinched look which is spread evenly across the rise and fall of the cheek. And as far as the lips go, I advise my clients to apply not more than two coats of lip gloss over a protective lip balm of their choice. The idea for the minimal look is to make them look professional while maintaining the ease of working from home.”
