Oluwagbenga Oluwafemi Dawodu, aka Kristen Dawodu, has explained the motivation behind his recent incursion into entertainment blogging, stating that he was inspired by his natural affinity for entertainment.
Dawodu, comedian and MC, had unveiled www.wahalanetworkblog.com some few weeks ago, and since then, the Instagram account, @wahalanetwork, and Twitter handle, @wahalanetworkB, have recorded thousands of followers.
According to the KD Records CEO, his new brainchild, Wahalanetwork is an online hub of entertainment news. “Aside from our website, our Instagram page is also rich with news updates,” he said.
“I love entertainment gists, news about people in showbiz interest me. And to be sincere, 80% of people who are online are interested in entertainment news, especially gossips and trivia about celebrities. What’s more, most of the news that put a smile on people’s faces are often entertainment news,” he said.
While the blog had started by curating content from social media, from Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Whatsapp, it has in the past week become a hub of exclusive and fresh multimedia contents, mostly videos, photos and interviews.
With regard to content creation, Dawodu claimed that Wahalanetwork will not rehash stories by other bloggers, but instead will strive to provide exclusive stories. “At the same time, we will not indulge in the act of sensationalisation of stories. Wahalanetwork, I am assuring you, will not be purveyor of fake news,” he stated.
Kristen Dawodu further hinted that his new enterprise will integrate philanthropy into its activities, whereby it will have a permanent giveaway feature every Saturday.
“We are going to give back to our followers every Saturday, just like what Tundeednut is doing on Instagram,” he affirmed.
