Samuel ‘Faze’ Ukpo aka ‘SammieFaze’ is a Nigerian singer, rapper, songwriter and performer based in Boston, Massachusetts. The musical act whose music is a strong Fusion of early Afrobeats and Western pop music, is one of the fastest rising afrobeats artists in Boston.

SammieFaze who is from Ohafia in Abia state, Nigeria, started singing and rapping when he was 11 years old, he would sneak out with his older brothers to attend rap battles around the neighborhood. He is a multi-talented artist, who can sing, draw, dance, model, and has also dabbled in some acting. At the age of 12 he won 2nd prize in a secondary school drawing contest in Ondo State. In his secondary school days he was known as “Snoop” because of his rapping skills, during his Polytechnic days his was known as SammieFaze bcos he was in a singing group that modeled themselves after the popular boys group “Plantainz Boiz”, and because of he had slight resemblance to 2Face fabs started calling him SammieFaze.

In 2020 he released his first Single titled “Omo to Fine” Produced by AutoclaveBeats. He followed up in quick succession, releasing six more songs that same year. One of the songs was the smash single ‘Boston Giant’. The song garnered momentum in Boston and caught people’s attention all over the state of Massachusetts.

Three months after the release of the single Boston Giant, SammieFaze put out his first EP titled “Taken Over”. “Taken Over was a statement that I am coming to take over and take my spot on the music scene in Boston and beyond,” Sammie explained.

SammieFaze is currently working on releasing his first single in 2022 titled “Body Riddim”, and is also working on his sophomore EP, which he says will be dropping in the fourth quarter of the year.
