As the trial of the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, gathers momentum at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State, Dr. Bayo Orire, has emphasized that the trial is casting a serious doubt on President Muhamadu Buhari’s anti-graft war.

Orire, a medical practitioner, advised Saraki to resign from his position and toe the path of honour for posterity to judge him rightly .

On the management of the APC, Orire commended a former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, for liberating the South West from political bondage.

Saraki is facing trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal for alleged false declaration of assets.

Orire , who spoke in Ado Ekiti on Monday said :”Saraki should humbly resign if he is not shameless. Some people mentioned in the Panama papers have resigned. He should resign.”

He criticised Governor Ayodele Fayose for embarking on construction of a N5.7b worth 1.2 km flyover in Ado Ekiti, while owing workers four months salaries.

He lamented that the environment in Ekiti had become hostile for investors due to attitude of the governor.

“Running an unplanned governance, he thinks he would be remembered for planting a bridge-the first in Ekiti State; but he has forgotten the hundreds teachers dying of hunger for non-payment of salaries, the poor Ekiti who live on less than N100 per day; he has to treat them to a N5.7bn bridge for a less than 1.2km per length,” he said.
