Scientists have found more than 100 genes that affect hair colour, China Youth Daily reported on Monday.

Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Beijing institute of genomics, in partnership with overseas institutions, used multi-ethnic samples to precisely compute the hair colour of almost 300,000 individuals.

The institutions analysed the relationship between hair colour and over eight million genes, said the newspaper.
