Security was, on Tuesday, beefed-up in Akure, the Ondo State capital, and

other major towns in the state following the visit to the state of Vice President

Yemi Osinbajo.

Osinbajo, who was to declare open the second National summit on

Niger/Delta, was yet to arrive the state as at time of filing this report.

Already, a heavy security was noticed in Akure ahead of the arrival of the vice president, even as major roads leading to the International Events

Centre where he would be received, had been blocked.

Armed security personnel in uniforms and mufti were also currently parading major streets and roads within Akure metropolis.

Shop owners and traders at the popular Post Office Market were denied the opportunity to do carry out their businesses as they were not allowed to pass

through the Post Office Road.

As at the time of filing this report Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and his

deputy, Mr. Agboola Ajayi, were awaiting the arrival of the vice

president at the Akure airport.
