The Senate, on Tuesday, decried the state of Nigeria’s foreign missions.

It said the condition of foreign missions was embarrassing.

The upper legislative chamber also said that some foreign missions might soon lose their buildings to host countries, as a result of Nigeria’s inability to renovate the dilapidated structures.

It also revealed that staff in the various foreign missions could no longer pay their rents‎, while the school fees of their children are yet to be paid by the Federal Government.

To this end, the Senate has resolved to set up an adhoc committee to engage stakeholders and the Federal Government, on ways to address the state of Nigeria’s foreign missions.
