The Senator representing Ondo North senatorial district, Prof. Ajayi Borrofice, has said that the Senate would miss the  contributions of the late form Isiaka Adeleke who died on Sunday.

He described the late Adeleke as a ‘political icon of his time’, saying that his death was the end of an era not only in Osun State but in Nigeria.

Boroffice, who is the chairman of the senate committee on Science and Technology, while commiserating with the family of the late senator and the people of Osun State, said Adeleke’s death was a great loss to the country and the All progressives Congress (APC) in particular.

He said the vacuum left by the late politician would be difficult to fill by the present crop of politicians, stressing that Adeleke represented many things to the people.

He said his contributions to national development were second to none, describing him as a lover of his people who was after the emancipation of all and sundry during his life time.

According to a condolence message issued by Boroffice media aide, Mr. Kayode Fakuyi, the death of Sen. Adeleke was surprising and shocking.

He said “I feel a sense of personal loss as I have lost a great friend and colleague. We shared so many great moments together. He was religiously devoted to the welfare and prosperity of his constituents. He was one Nigerian that reflected and radiated patriotism at all times. He will be sorely missed.

“For members of the Adeleke’s family, friends and supporters, we should be consoled by the fact that the deceased lived an impactful life as a politician and philanthropist of high repute.

“I pray God to grant his gentle soul eternal rest and give all of us the fortitude to bear this huge loss,” the statement added.
