After a successful outing, five winners have emerged during the maiden edition of the Ayko Agency Talent and Modeling Competition

 

The epoch-making event which was held at Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos on Friday June 11, saw two models; two musicians and one dancer walk home with price money of Five Hundred Thousand Naira each after a rigorous screening and talent showcase.

 

The winners include: Adedokun Abisola (model), Ewaoluwa Onilenla (model), Inimfo Iniama (dancer), Similoluwa Afolabi (rapper) and Omoboriola Adunni (singer) while the panel of judges are Nollywood actress, Osas Ighodaro, Kola Oshalusi and Ovo Ogufere.

 

Speaking at the event, the founders of Ayko Agency Talent and Modeling Competition, Ayoola Bakare and Koya Onagoruwa said the aim of the competition is to help talents who are underrepresented and have compelling stories to achieve their dreams.

 

“The Agency exists to promote and encourage the advancement of those from a vast range of socio economic and underrepresented background”, they said in a joint statement.

Co founder, Koya Onagoruwa, said “Ayko Agency was formed by the two of us to give back, to look for people who are under privileged, who are underrepresented and help them through the entertainment industry”.

 

Koya further added that aside from the five hundred thousand naira prize won by each contestant, the winners would be going on a two weeks boot camp where they would be trained on personal development, well being and mental health awareness among others.

 

Also speaking during the grand finale, co founder Ayko Agency Talent and Modeling Competition, Ayoola Bakare, stated that the agency has an intentional passion to support talents from Africa.

 

“What makes Ayko Agency different is our intentional passion to look at every one of them and actually support them. We are not promising that by being with Ayko you have made it but by being with Ayko you actually have someone that is intentionally investing in you by training you. It’s like saying you have a mentor as an agency in terms of supporting your career to be better”.
