No fewer than six Corps members deployed to Sokoto State under the batch “A”, 2015 are to repeat their service years.
The Coordinator of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) in Sokoto state, Mr. Thomas Yamma disclosed this on Thursday at the passing out ceremony of the 2,041 corps members of the batch.
Yamma also said that four other corps members have had their service years extended by two months.
He justified that the measures were taken against the erring corps members for violating the rules and regulations of the corps.
The State Coordinator also said at least three outstanding corps members were bestowed with the state’s prestigious merit awards while four others got the chairman’s awards among others given commendation letters.
Yamma, however, commended the state government, the Sultanate Council of Sokoto and the people of the state for the sustained moral and financial support to the corps.
The chairman of the NYSC Governing Board in the state, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Social Welfare promised that the state government will continue to prioritize the welfare and security of the corps members.
