Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA), Mr. Osita Onuko, has assured of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s commitment to the infrastructural and business development of Anambra State.

Onuko told Daily Sun that the governor has started walking his talks by flagging off over 230 kilometres of road in various parts of the state within his eight months in office.

“Soludo is one of the governors that have come here to work. With just about eight months in office, he has flagged off about 230kms of roads. There are administrations that have stayed for eight years and they were not able to construct up to 200kms of roads in the whole eight years.

“Soludo has also made a 50 percent commitment in terms of payment to these contractors. So, with Soludo you see commitment to infrastructural development. He is committed to restoring the public infrastructure.”

Meanwhile, the government has debunked a notice circulating around the social media that it had directed that all schools and markets be closed on December 15 and 20.

Commissioner for  Information, Sir Paul Nwosu, in a statement, declared the news as fake and also said that it was untrue, false and misleading.

He explained that he had not issued any such release neither did the news emanate from his office nor any other government information unit.

The Commissioner, therefore, called on the public to ignore the information, describing it as the handwork of mischief makers.

Meanwhile, Governor Soludo has sacked Chief Ikechukwu Ekwagbalu leadership of  Anambra State Market Amalgamated Traders Association, (ASMATA).

No reason was given but source said it may be connected with the leadership squabble ravaging the union since their emergence in 2019.

A statement by Governor Soludo’s media aide,  Mr. Christian Aburime, announced the constitution of a 24-man caretaker committee to oversee the leadership  of ASMATA.

He gave names of the caretaker committee members as Chief Humphrey Anuna as President General, Mr. Obinna Okechukwu as 1st President General  and Mr. Chukwudi Nwakwor as 2nd President General.
