An All Progressives Congress  (APC) chieftain  in Niger State, Alhaji Nima Kolo has added his voice to the call for consideration of the the North Central zone for the position of the speaker of the House of Representatives.

Kolo believed that it would be injustice to scheme region out of the position in view of its contribution to the success of the party during the Presidential and National Assembly elections.

He argued that the zone had made enough contributions to the success of the party and, therefore, deserved to be rewarded with the number four position.

Kolo who based his argument on what he  called  “The dynamics in the selection of the Speaker of the ninth House of Rep”, recalled that the North-Central has been a strong base of the APC .

“The North Central, as a vital region of Nigerian politics has over the years played very crucial role in successive governments and the present President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government. The  North Central gave 2,465,599 votes to President Buhari thereby making it one of the stakeholders in the APC administration.”

He threw his weight behind  Umar Bago representing Chanchaga federal constituency, who he said  has shown consistency in his commitment to the President Muhammad Buhari-led government and has remained loyal to the party.

“Moreover, he is very popular among his colleagues and has been one of the longest serving members of the green chamber. He has played vital role in the success of the many committees that he has worked or served in.”

He appealed to  APC lawmakers and other Reps members from Niger State  and across Nigeria  to rally round and support him to emerge.
