Bayelsa State Commissioner for Information and OrientationDaniel Iworiso-Markson has congratulated Governor Henry Seriake Dickson for leading the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) to another round of electoral victory.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared incumbent lawmaker, Hon Gibson Munalayefa of the PDP winner in the March 23 supplementary election for Ogbia constituency 2 polling 2,683 votes.

He said the victory of the party and its candidates in the main and just concluded supplementary election speaks volume of the governor’s political dexterity and astuteness.

Iworiso-Markson in a statement on Sunday extolled the political virtues of Governor Dickson, describing him as the undisputed Godfather of Bayelsa politics who has the Midas touch to change the state’s political trajectory given his uncommon approach to politics and governance.

According to him, the victory of PDP candidates at the polls in both the National and State House of Assembly elections was a clear testament of an emerging political movement that bears eloquent testimony to a new order which is the Dickson’s political odyssey, that seeks to enthrone a culture of excellence in political service.

While also congratulating all the PDP House of Assembly members-elect, Iworiso-Markson particularly hailed his elected Ogbia kinsmen for their resounding victories at the polls.

He said the victory of Hon. Gibson in the supplementary election on Saturday was monumental as he recorded the highest and widest margin ever scored by any candidate in the election and profusely thanked Governor Dickson for standing by him and doing everything legitimately possible to deliver the candidate.

Iworiso-Markson assured the countryman governor that the trust and confidence he had invested in the current political leadership in Ogbia would never be betrayed and working together they would continue to support him even beyond his glorious exit from Creek Haven.

The government spokesman stressed that Ogbia under the new crop of elected House of Assembly members with his support and those of his teeming number of followers and supporters across the local government would not let him down but would remain totally loyal and committed to him and his legacies.
