To promote excellence and dedication, the Supreme International Magazine honoured some Nigerians who had made their mark in various spheres of life.
The second edition of the supreme award was held in Lagos, with the theme, ‘The Need to preserve our today and tomorrow.’ Dignitaries at the event included Bisi Olatilo, Prof. Atulagbe and Temitope Ajayi (aka Mama Diaspora). The awardees included the general manager of Lagos State Neigbhood Watch, DPO of Alausa police station and Unity Bank.
The guest speaker, who is the CEO of Badinson Security, Mr. Matthew Ibadin, urged Nigerians to know the importance of national security and that they are the advisers of the government. “The government formulates the laws and implements them but we are to obey them. For example, if people like the LASMA are not on the road people will go haywire. And if there are no security personnel, there will be chaos in the country.”
Ibadin remarked that no country in the world is not rotten but because of national security they cover so many things up. He, therefore, called on Nigerians to protect the country. “There is no country in the world like Nigeria. Even though we have our challenges, we will surely overcome them.
“We must follow rules that are being released by the government. Our duty as citizens is to stop pushing out negative videos about Nigeria to other countries, and try to protect the image of Nigeria, project Nigeria in a positive light,” he said.
Olatilo, who was the chairman of the occasion, expressed his profound happiness over the accomplishments of the publisher of the magazine, Mr. Friday Etim John. He said: “I am happy that all the things you learned from me you are doing it.”
He said that John has started well and will continue to do well.
He charged men to take good care of their families because they are the ones doing the work. While calling on his friend to pray fervently and get close to God, he said it was when he decided to go closer to God that the door of success was opened for him. According to him, these are his bedrock of success.
John was full of praise that the second edition of the award held despite the global economic crises.
