Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku on Monday signed the 2023 appropriation Bill into law.

The state House of Assembly passed the Bill into Law on December 14 with an increase of N500 million to accommodate the state Electoral Commission, bringing the total sum to 173,234,537,459:40.

The governor promised to ensure the completion of ongoing projects in the state and provide a smooth take-off for whoever succeeds him as the next governor.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of the state House of Assembly Professor Joseph Albasu Kunini, appealed to governor Darius Ishaku to release the 7 years pending assembly staff allowances for payment since the staff have demonstrated the spirit of diligent service and deserve to be appreciated.

Kunini appealed that the plight and patience of the staff be treated with utmost priority to enable them to feel the impact of civil service.

“Signing of the 2023 budget today for the development of Taraba would be the last of your administration as governor. I, on behalf of the Assembly, commend you for the height of development you have taken Taraba to.

” I want to announce to you that we have increased the 2023 budget appropriation bill by 500,000,000 to enable the state Independent Electoral Commission to conduct local government election in 2023.

“I also want to appeal that the pending 7 years unpaid allowances of staff of Taraba state House of Assembly be treated with priority. The staff have demonstrated the spirit of diligence service for the development of Taraba and I want to pronounce that they deserve to be treated with a human face to enable them to feel the impact of civil service” Kunini said.
