Testimonies from those suffering from ano-rectal disorders like bleeding and non-bleeding piles, anal fissures, fistula and rectal prolapse but who are now enjoying their lives are sources of encouragement, says Mr Obiora Atuchukwu, whose firm is the sole marketer of Pykure, an Indian Ayurvedic medicine for piles and other ano-rectal disorders.
Atuchukwu, chief executive of the AKO Group of Companies, in an earlier report said that pile patients had cause to rejoice as the problem would reduce drastically by 2017 with the use of Pykure herbal capsule.
He explained that since the introduction of Pykure into the African market, many pile sufferers who had lost hope of survival have been testifying how they got relief from the deadly ailment.
Atuchukwu who spoke during a chat in Lagos on Wednesday explained that Nigerians are more of the testifiers as calls come in on daily basis. “I receive many calls everyday from those who have used or are still using Pykure Herbal Capsules that they did not regret spending their money on the medicine. Thereafter, they request for more. My joy is not that I am making sales, but rather people buying the product are getting value for their money and are happy. So, I am encouraged by that.”
He stated that Pykure capsule is a big relief to pile patients and it is at their doorsteps. “Pykure is the answer to piles, fissures and fistula. It goes a long way in tackling the root cause of the problem if taken as recommended. It is 100 per cent herbal and has no side effects. Also, it is for patients who are not willing to undergo surgery,” he said.
Atuchukwu further said that the introduction of Pykure into Nigeria and African continent was due to the rapid increase in number of those suffering from piles, noting that the ailment is very dangerous to health. “Piles result in irritability, weakness, anemia, pain and other physiological disorders, which affect the health and efficiency of a person.”
Atuchukwu also explained that pile is a distressing condition that causes itching and discomfort around the anal area, and if left unattended, the condition could become severe, involving pain, bleeding, and pus formation. “It will also lead to great misery. The syndrome is very common in a major part of the population in Nigeria and other African countries due to negligence to abide by the health rules.”
According to him, in order to tackle the problem, patients should avoid constipation, fast food, aerated drinks, Maida, pizzas etc. “Those suffering from pile should try to avoid red chilli, spicy food, rich masala food, deep fries, liquor, coffee, tobacco, mango, French fries and thick fibre meats like beef.
Atuchukwu also warned pile patients to avoid obesity and stay away from antibiotic medicines as far as possible, especially during the medication period. “Also, those who work on computers or other desk jobs should not sit for prolonged periods, but should but take a break at regular intervals so that blood circulation is restored in the anal area.
The AKO chief executive further advised patients to increase the amount of fibre in their diets and eat plenty of cereals, fruits, green vegetables and curd etc. “Fibre and liquid would add to the bulk of the patient’s stool, which would help the waste to move through the intestine and result in soft stools that are easy to pass. Therefore, plenty of water like 10-12 glasses should be taken per day at regular intervals.”
