As a global pioneer in building creative young talent and pushing their ideas to the forefront, Pastor Tobi of SPAC Nation has spearheaded a number of initiatives into the business sphere. From creating a new movement of five churches, birthed from SPAC Nation – the focus has remained to empower young people as entrepreneurs and in education.
To set alight this mission, Adegboyega has created avenues for creativity, learning and enterprise. Through building the biggest studio for film and music in the UK, designed to allow people to utilise equipment and space for free, he intends on signing the best creative young talent and growing upcoming talent in education.
This year’s A-Level results saw a lot of young black students gaining entry into prestigious universities such as Oxford and Cambridge. The clergyman has initiated a scheme to provide 20 I-Macs to some of these students to assist them on their education journey.
“We can’t wait for the government anymore. We do not give because we have but because we need to create alternatives for people. We want to see crime decrease in our community,” he said.
The latest drive in establishing young global entrepreneurs is a collaboration with Chief Dele Momodu, the man behind the entertainment machine: Ovation Magazine. The aim was toThe Entrepreneur Challenge is a dragons-den style approach for young entrepreneurs in Nigeria to pitch their ideas and win funding to the tune of 1.75m Naira. A variety of entrepreneurs from a range of industries such as technology, fashion design, farming, productions and cosmetics sent their video pitches and competed to win the funding.
An excerpt from Momodu stated that “the decision is based on those who have already created start ups and is to aid them with more capital”.
The competition proved tough, as many bright young minds entered the running for a chance to win over a million naira to build their start ups. A surprise twist in the works, Pastor Adegboyega tripled the prize money for not just one winner but three budding entrepreneurs. This sparked the first Instagram Live to ever create three instant millionaires. The names of the young winners and their industries are listed below:
1st prize winner – Shoeniverse, which is a handmade footwear brand, based in Lagos State.
2nd Prize Winner – Zhal Foods, creating pocket-friendly and tasty foods , based in Minna, Niger State.
