Femi Factor is a fast-rising talent in the Nigerian Music industry. His story to stardom may not be so much different from that of the big-wigs in the industry – the likes of Wizkid and Kiss Daniel – who began singing from a very young age in their respective churches. At age 8, Femi Coker, better known as Femi Factor, joined his church choir and was a lead vocalist.
Born Coker Olorunfemi in the early 90’s in Kwara state, Nigeria, Femi Factor is an household name in Lagos. He graduated from Covenant University, Ota, and soon began to give his music career every ounce of his energy shortly after he left the University. His journey professionally began in 2017 after he released his debut single titled ’Rajo’. Rajo is an exclusive beautiful song with soft melody and harmonious vocals that please the ears. Rajo, a song that completely talks about the virtues in being patient and having hope for a better future, shot him into limelight. Listening to such a beautiful song rekindles hope and renews strength to continue ’pushing’ until one achieves success.
Femi Factor can best be described as a jack of all trades. In his own case, a master of all. He specialises not only in music but other digital businesses. Apart from his music career, he’s a popular meme creator on twitter (the originator of the waka meme) and arguably one of the most popular meme content creators ever in the country.
Femi is also a Media consultant, running a 9-5 media agency. This media agency specialises in providing consultations for brand owners and media agencies, towards maximizing their profit margin. Femi is an influencer marketer and knows pretty well how to use the social media tools effectively, and growing contents organically.
Between 2017 and 2021, he has produced a total of three EPs titled; CruiseTape, Afrobyte and Lstn Up. His debut EP, CruiseTape, was widely accepted as it generated up to 200k streams and still counting. His sophomore EP, Afrobyte, however has the most beautiful kinds of sounds he’s ever produced as it has different artistes on the project.
On twitter, he’s best known as meme creator while on Instagram, as an afro-fusion musician. His music has grown over the years with his performance at different shows in Nigeria and offshore. He has received a number of awards for his distinct afro-fusion voice. Although not signed to any music label, he currently works under a music label called Jungle Entertainment Digital Distribution.
Femi Factor is naturally inspired by what happens around him. That’s how he gets inspired for writing his songs. And once he gets inspired, he turns his inspiration into good music and pieces of art.
Big brands such as Canon Northern, Central Africa and Samsung NG has worked with Femi as a brand influencer. Quite a number of times, he has taken his music to a few countries in Africa.
