The Sun awards keeps getting better – Chief Chris Ekwilo JP, President, Igbo Coalition in Lagos

I have been attending The Sun Awards for years and it keeps getting better. I am glad that Igbo people are leading the pack when it comes to being honoured. The governor of Enugu State deserves the award he got. He is a working governor and I thank The Sun for recognising his good works.

My people have a popular saying that if you praise a man for the good thing he has done, he will be energised to do more. The ambience is beautiful and lovely. The music is high class and there are many beautiful women around to lighten up the mood. Kudos to the Sun Newspaper for organising one of the best events in recent times!

The Sun Newspaper leads the way, others follow – Zaaki Azzay, musician

I am always happy to be part of a good project. I love the fact that a prestigious newspaper like The Sun takes time and effort to track the achievements of some inspiring Nigerians and also set a day aside to honour them.

I am glad that the entertainment industry to which I belong is not left out of this recognition. Music has come a long way in Nigeria and it is a great pleasure to see young men and women representing this country well with their music.

The Sun Newspaper is leading the way for others to follow when it comes to honouring notable Nigerians in different fields and sharing their achievements with the world. Nigeria is a great country with equally great, kind and creative people.

The Sun rewards hard work

-Obi Eziokwu, Ndigbo of Mushin

Seeing all Nigerians together in one place for the purpose of recognising notable men and women who have made life easier for Nigerians gives me joy. The fact that people from different tribes are laughing, hugging and greeting one another is commendable.

The Sun Awards rewards hard work, tenacity and creativity. The awardees deserve the honour being accorded to them because they are inspiring others with their achievements. History will never forget The Sun management for rewarding men and women who have done well while they are still alive.

To the awardees, I will say this: remember that to whom much is given, much is expected. The reward of good work is more work. I want the awardees to continue to do good things so that more lives can be changed by what they do. This is because people reap whatever they sow in life.

The Award ceremony is a laudable initiative -Mr. Obaro Odeghe, Head, Corporate Bank Directorate, Fidelity Bank

It is a great event. The Sun Newspaper has done well by recognising those who have contributed to the growth of this country in their different fields. It is a laudable initiative on the part of the publishing house and I think Nigerians appreciate the fact that people are taking note of their good deeds and recording their milestones. I have gone through the list of the awardees and I think it was a very objective selection. This is because the awardees were selected from different industries, from banking to manufacturing, to entertainment. Almost every sector was covered.

These are Nigerians who have really done well. I appreciate The Sun Newspaper for recognising them at this time where many people focus more on money instead of hard work and helping humanity.

The Sun Awards is prestigious -Mr. Clement Buari, Lawyer

Everything looks fantastic. The event was well organised. The hall looks good and I am happy to be here to support my friend who is an awardee. I had an exciting time today. I think this is one of the most prestigious award ceremonies in this country. I want The Sun Newspaper to do better next year. I came from Abuja to witness this beautiful ceremony.

I love to see more women being honoured -Lola Adefusika, CEO, JOED Garden

This is the first time I am attending The Sun Awards ceremony and I love what I am seeing. I am happy that people who have done well were recognised and honoured. I love the beauty and decoration of the hall. It shows that the organisers of the event are serious minded people who mean business.

Honouring people while they are still alive is not something that some Africans are known for, but I have been inspired by the management of The Sun newspaper who have for over a decade dedicated their time to rewarding men and women who have excelled greatly in their various fields. This is a commendable gesture which should be encouraged.

I look forward to seeing more women on the list of awardees next year. Many women are doing their best in their chosen fields and helping humanity. These women should be honoured too. Women love to be recognized too and The Sun newspaper should improve on this next year.

Your awards stand out -Mrs. Adenike Adewusi, Businesswoman

As a businesswoman who has been navigating the murky waters of doing business in Nigeria, I am glad that people who have worked hard in their chosen fields were rewarded by The Sun Newspaper. With what I witnessed at the event, The Sun stands out when it comes to honouring hardworking and inspiring Nigerians, but this year, they took it a notch higher. The music was superb, especially the performance by Tiwa Savage.

I love the setting. It was beautiful. The awardees were carefully selected on merit. The Sun has not compromised on excellence and that is highly commendable. The fact that a newspaper house selected inspirational people from different sectors of the economy to celebrate as against celebrating mediocrity is a plus for the media house.
