Three-year-old girl needs N4.5m for heart surgery

An appeal has gone to kind-hearted Nigerians, philanthropists as well as corporate and religious organisations for donations for three-year-old Oluwadarasimi Bright Etame, who is currently down with a heart condition.
Baby Etame, according to medical reports, is suffering from a heart condition known as Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD).
According to her father, Mr. Jonathan Etame, the three year old needs to undergo an urgent surgery abroad. It will cost the family N4.5 million, which the parents don’t have.
“She is presently three years old. According to medical reports, she needs to undergo an open-heart surgery abroad. The cost estimate as at when the exchange rate was N200 to a dollar was put at 3.5million naira. But with the current exchange rate, she will need N4.5million.
“Presently, my daughter is on a daily dose of drugs, which according to her paediatric doctor, should not continue for a long time. We hereby solicit financial support from the Nigerian populace to enable her undergo the surgery,” said the distraught father.
