Leader of the ≠≠BringBackOurGirls (BBOG) group, Mrs. Obiageli Ezekwesili said yesterday in Abuja that time was running out for the Federal Government to rescue the Chibok Schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram on April 14, 2014.
The girls, numbering over 260, were seized from their Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State hostel by the terrorists.
The BBOG said time had completely run out and a decisive action must be taken to rescue the girls.
On Tuesday, the military said an unprecedented and spectacular air raid “fatally wounded” Abubakar Shekau, the Boko Haram leader.
Mrs. Ezekwesili said while Shekau had been killed on four occasions, the military has not been able to rescue the girls.
“Another key issue in the last 72 hours is the military’s announcement that Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, was fatally wounded during air raids,” Ezekwesili said.
“We want it on record that this is at least  the fourth time the Nigerian state has triumphantly announced killing this fellow.
“Today is day 864 since the abduction of our girls, time has completely run out. It is time to take decisive action and bring them home. No more delays.”
She said the group could no longer sit and watch humanity debased.
Yakubu Enoch, father of the abducted girl identified as Dorcas, who spoke in a recent video clip released by the insurgents, lamented that President Muhammadu Buhari had refused to listen to the parents of the abducted girls.
Meanwhile, a leader of the group, Aisha Yesufu, lamented the continued seizure of the girls.
Speaking after the police barred the movement from entering the Villa yesterday, the second time in four days, Yesufu stated that the rescue of the girls was not a favour but a right enshrined in the Constitution.
“We are tired of hearing no credible intelligence, I can say that the president is not doing anything,” she added.
Another leader of the movement, said the government could not admit that it had not embarked on a rescue of the girls just because it did not have intelligence.
“Nigeria voted you in to serve their purpose, Mr. President, we are disappointed.
“Leadership is about making tough decisions and as president we can’t wait forever or for credible intelligence. How many times would he say no credible intelligence.”
