Wife of the APC Presidential candidate, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated the sum of N10 million to victims of flood disaster in Benue state.
Senator Tinubu made the donation at Presidential Lodge at Benue Peoples House, Makurdi, when she visited the state to sympathize with those displaced by flooding in some parts of the state.
Mrs Tinubu, accompanied on the visit by the wife of the APC vice presidential candidate, Mrs Nana Shettima, Mrs Regina Akume, state APC governorship candidate, Hyacinth Alia and his running mate, Sam Ode, said she has had good relationship with the people of Benue state and as such what affects the people also affects her.
She expressed optimism that the relief items, including cartons of Indomie, spaghetti, macaroni, sugar, beverages, rubber cups and disposable plates, will provide succour to the victims.
She also urged those affected by the flood not to be weighed down by the situation but continue to hold on.
Receiving Senator Tinubu in Makurdi, the wife of the Benue Governor, Mrs Eunice Ortom, assured that the relief materials she donated to the state will be judiciously distributed to the victims of the flood.
She, on behalf of the government and people of the state, expressed appreciation to Senator Tinubu for the visit to identify with the flood victims, stating that her visit rekindled hope in the flood victims.
Ortom mandated the Executive Secretary, State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, Emmanuel Shior, to ensure judicious distribution of the relief materials to only those who have been affected by the flood.
