The drive to make The Centre of Excellence, Lagos State, a tourism hub is about to receive a massive boost as veteran film maker, Eddy Ugboma is poised to partner an American consortium and the Lagos State government.

According to an insider who squealed to TSW: “Governor Ambode is determined to position Lagos State as the premiere tourist destination in Nigeria and indeed Africa. “The drive to establish Lagos State as a tourism hub will begin from Badagry and extend to Ikorodu and Epe. It will also include a film village which will be handled by Edifosa Entertainment which will include state-of-the-art facilities where musicians can record their songs and shoot videos.”

Among others the source revealed that the drive will impact the quality of films made in Nigeria and by extension, boost the image of Nollywood.

Said the source: “we are looking forward to the above stated negotiation and investment. If the French can organize nine events in France every year, why can’t Lagos State do better? We know that the Culture & Tourism Ministry in Lagos will do all it can to make this a success.”
