Tragedy has struck at Amofia, Imezi Affa in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu, as fire outbreak was reported to have claimed the life of one Chinwendu Nwafor.
The inferno which started early in the morning on Monday was said to have burnt the man beyond recognition while the entire building was razed to the foundation as well as the property therein.
A statement the Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed the unfortunate incident.
The police spokesman said that a full-scale investigation has commenced into the fire incident with a view to ascertaining the cause of the inferno.
“The burnt person later identified as one Chinwendu Nwafor has been removed for further necessary investigative action,” Amaraizu said.
