Africa’s largest online travel agency, Travelstart Limited plans to invest in marketing communication activities that would grow tourism and travel business in Nigeria. Speaking on the Afro Tourism West Africa forum held recently in Lagos, Commercial Managerfor Travelstart Nigeria, Ms. Bukky Olowude shared insights on how the company is using emails and mobile marketing to personalize the travel experience of Nigerians.
She revealed that the brand is ready to invest heavily in marketing communications to educate Nigerians not to limited their idea of tourism or vacation to countries in Europe, America,or Asia, but to include local travels to historical and important sites within Nigeria (during weekends and public holidays) as well as promoting travel within West Africa countries like Ghana, Gambia, Senegal, and Cote d’ivoire.
“Prior to now, Travelstart has always been visible and active online. To further improve the brand’s visibility and affinity we are now ready to push the brand offline through strategic communication campaigns, therefore increasing online ticket sales for our affiliates” Olowude added.
