It was a pleasant surprise for the huge audience that had come to watch the Glo Mega Music Show last Sunday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State when the company unveiled top musician, Tuface Idibia, as brand ambassador.
The drama began when the anchors, Ebube Nwagbo and Juliet Ibrahim came on stage to announce that there was a surprise for the crowd. Just as the stage light dimmed, Victor Osuagwu, who made a celebrity guest appearance at the show, came on stage. Later, PSquare mounted the stage and ushered in Tuface. The twins symbolically initiated Tuface as Glo brand ambassador by placing a crown on his head.
The hall erupted in wild jubilation. Tuface could not hide his joy at joining the elite and exclusive group of Glo brand ambassadors. He looked regal and triumphal in his white robe as he spread his hands wide. Without much ado, he went to work immediately, performing his first task as a Glo ambassador. He took the crowd on an entertainment excursion of his sojourn in the music industry, from his days in Plantashun Boiz, a band he formed with two other musicians in 1997.
Besides the drama of Tuface’s unveiling, all the top artistes who performed during the evening of fun, delivered stellar performances and gave the audience ample value for their time.
The show opened with Omawumi who entertained the crowd with her hit tunes, percussive vibes and signature energetic dance routine. She was immediately followed by another female Afro-pop diva, Yemi Alade, who along with her choreographic dancers treated the crowd to breathtaking dance steps that instantly validated her rating as a jewel on stage.
Then came dancehall star, Runtown, who dazzled the crowd with Mad Over You and other hit tracks like Pulse, Fijogbowo, Emergency, Walahitalahi, and Kolabo.
Runtown was followed by Phyno and the Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa, Timaya. The two artistes were delightful and the crowd showed its deep appreciation by dancing and singing all through. The entrance of PSquare changed the dynamics of the show as the brothers mesmerized with their stagecraft.
The last act of the night was Olamide who gave a good account of himself.
The next edition of the Glo Mega Music Nationwide Tour holds on Saturday May 27, in Ajah, Lagos and Glo subscribers desirous of watching the show are encouraged to recharge their lines with N2,000 and text ‘MUSIC AJAH’ to the short code 207.
