Flying Eagles of Nigeria will leave Nigeria for Morocco with 25 players for further preparations and acclimatization to the cold weather, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigeria team will travel to the north African country via Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano.

In Morocco, the two times FIFA U20 finalist will play international friendly matches before the coaching crew decided on four players to drop.

The seven times African champions will leave Morocco for Egypt, venue of the 2023 CAF U20 African Cup of Nations in readiness for the 17th edition of the biennial competition with 21 players.

Free-scoring U20 Team will open their campaign on 19th February against Senegal. Nigeria are in group A with hosts, Egypt, Senegal and Mozambique.

The tournament will also double as the African qualifiers for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup held in Indonesia. The top four teams will qualify for the World Cup.

Ghana were the defending champions, having won their 4th title in 2021, but will not defend the title after failing to qualify for the tournament.
