The All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Delta South senatorial district in last Saturday’s election, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to cancel the result of the polls in the area.

In a statement, the former governor’s media aide, Monoyo Edon, said Uduaghan in a petition to the electoral umpire, alleged that the election was fraught with electoral malpractices, irregularities, ballot stuffing coupled with electoral violence in some parts of Burutu, Bomadi, Patani, Warri North and Isoko North local government areas.

Based on the alleged irregularities and electoral violence, Uduaghan in the petition which was submitted at the senatorial collation centre in Oleh, called for the cancellation of the elections in Delta South.

Edon said his boss expressed profound appreciation to the people of Delta South senatorial district for their overwhelming support throughout the period of electioneering, urging his supporters to remain calm and peaceful as further directives would be communicated.

INEC had on Tuesday morning declared incumbent senator, James Manager, as the winner of the election.
